Description:

Instructor in Teaching American Sign Language (ASL) in Schools

The University of Utah Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders
is seeking an instructor for its Emphasis in Teaching ASL Program. The
purpose of this program is to train primary and secondary teachers to teach
ASL in Utah's public schools. Responsibilities: supervising student
practicum, teaching advanced undergraduate courses in ASL, Deaf Studies and
Instructional Methods, as well as participating in service activities.
Requirements: fluency in ASL/extensive ASL training and a graduate degree
in Deaf Studies, Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, Applied Linguistics,
Education or related discipline. University teaching experience is desired,
but not required. Salary based upon qualifications. Excellent benefits
package.

The position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track appointment
