Meeting Description:

The Student's Conference on Linguistics (StuTS - ''Studentische
Tagung Sprachwissenschaft'') has traditionally been organized for
students by students for the last 18 years, with interested people
from all linguistic fields participating. It takes place twice a year
at different cities in Germany and Austria. We are happy to announce
that the upcoming StuTS will be hosted by Johannes Gutenberg-University
in Mainz (Germany) for the first time! It will take place from November 17th
- 21st 2004. It is open for contributions from every field of linguistics and
neighbouring disciplines and is not focused on any particular theoretical
framework.

Further important arrangements are the supporting program with
sightseeing of the host city as well as guided tours at interesting
places.

Conference Fee: 11 Euro / 16 Euro
Free lodging will be provided by the organizers.

The main language of the StuTS will be German, but papers in English are
welcome as well. Papers and workshops (called ''Arbeitsgemeinschaft'' or ''AG'')
can be 45, 60 or 90 minutes long including discussion. Papers from all subfields
of linguistics are welcome, be they MA/PhD theses or term papers or any individual
topics.

Any person interested in the StuTS is welcome to participate. There is no obligation
to deliver a paper and participants from abroad are explicitly invited to take part
in this event.

There will be a modest registration fee of 11 Euro / 16 Euro which will cover
conference materials and breakfast at the venue. Accommodation
(at other students' rooms, dormitory, etc.) will be provided free of charge by
the organizers.
