Description:

Ask Jeeves Inc. is looking to recruit Information Analysts to join the Ask
Jeeves European division based in Dublin. The successful candidates will
have native speaker fluency in either French, Italian, German, Spanish or
Dutch as well as fluently speaking English and will be responsible for
overseeing the quality of the Teoma index for those languages.

Information Analysts will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Language consultation and analysis for Ask Jeeves European web properties
- Working with engineering and product management teams to evaluate
  products and report back potential and actual problems
- Management of the Teoma language-specific database
- Ensuring the overall quality of the index
- Developing content components such as dictionaries of various kinds
- Evaluating accuracy and relevance of a variety of search products
- Monitor performance of Teoma index as part of overall site performance
- 1st level customer service

Job Requirements:
1.  A good degree in a demonstrably related field or 2 years of relevant
     experience
2.  Excellent analytical skills (data analysis, pattern identification)
3.  Demonstrable technical aptitude (could be a range of skills from using
     particular tools, troubleshooting, computational skills)
4.  Excellent communication skills in both English and native tongue, as
     well as data reporting
5.  Fluency in English, native speaker of one of the above languages
6.  Outstanding knowledge of native language structure and grammatical
     considerations
7.  Thorough knowledge of native country web
8.  Experience with the web and knowledge of the search industry
9.  MS Office, in particular Excel, Windows XP
10.Basic familiarity with HTML and related web technologies
11.Interest in languages, information retrieval and content management
12.Ability to multi-task and prioritise projects
13.Flexible, detail-oriented
14.Able to take the initiative in identifying problems and developing
     creative and effective solutions
15.Able to work as part of a team and independently as needed

Any of the following skills would be an advantage:
1. Linux/unix competency
2. Experience with working with databases, simple scripting programming
    skills (perl, python, php, VB, or similar) a plus
3. Academic or industrial experience in Linguistic analysis
4. Experience in online or offline content management/editing
