Electronic Posters

If you wish to attend the workshop and participate in the discussion, you
are welcome to submit an electronic poster to the workshop web site.
Electronic posters will be reviewed only for pertinence to the topic of the
workshop. They should summarize recent work that is unpublished or
otherwise not widely known. If published, please include the reference.

Electronic posters should be up to 1000 words, ideally in .html format, or
else in .pdf. Please create a text that is easy to read off the screen, in
terms of wording, organization, and typography. Examples and analyses
should be presented in their logical order, not on separate pages as in
some conference abstracts.

Each poster should start with the name, affiliation, email address, and
possibly home page link of the author(s), followed by the title. We will
not post submissions that do not contain the author information.

Please email the poster files to polarity.workshop at gmail.com by February
10, 2005. The submissions will be posted at the workshop web site soon
thereafter.

If you would like to draw attention to a related paper of yours, please
post them at your home page and send us an entry consisting of the
author(s), the full title of the paper, and the link. Such entries will be
posted alongside electronic posters, for the long-term benefit though
perhaps not for the immediate edification of participants.

Meeting Description:

The Spanish for Native Speakers Special Interest Group seeks abstracts for
20 minute presentations to be delivered at the 2005 Annual Convention of
the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Abstracts
dealing with any aspect of Spanish heritage language teaching and learning
will be considered. The deadline for submission of abstracts has been
extended until February 10, 2005.

SPANISH FOR NATIVE SPEAKERS SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP (SIG)
ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) 2005
November 18-20, Baltimore, Maryland

The Spanish for Native Speakers Special Interest Group seeks abstract
submissions for the 38th ACTFL Convention to be held in Baltimore,
Maryland from November 18-20, 2005.

The SNS SIG is soliciting proposals in Spanish or English for twenty
minute presentations related to the specific linguistic and social
characteristics of Spanish Native Speakers in the United States.
This call encourages language educators from all levels to submit their
proposals and to attend the convention.

Please submit by e-mail a one-page 350-word abstract including the
title and main focus of the paper. Include your name, affiliation, address,
phone and e-mail address at the end of your abstract. Abstracts must
be received no later than February 10, 2005 to be considered. They should
be sent to Glenn Martinez, chair of the SNS SIG, at martinezg at utpa.edu.

All abstracts will be read anonymously by a committee composed of SIG
members, and authors will be notified by mid-March if their presentations
or posters have been accepted. Please include your abstract in the body
of your e-mail message. Attachments cannot be accepted.

Presenters must be members of ACTFL and of the SNS SIG and be registered
