Description:

DUTIES: The position's primary focus will be on the development of language
learning materials related to sponsored research projects at the NFLC. This
work will involve collaborating with the Second Language Acquisition team
in analyzing and implementing improvements to training for learning
materials developers grounded in principles of second language acquisition
for maximizing the instructional and linguistic quality of materials.
Specifically, the position will be responsible for producing high quality,
effective e-learning objects for use in language learning and language
skills maintenance. The Assistant will establish and coordinate the work of
expert consultants in virtual teams producing language e-learning materials
in assigned languages including: acting as the primary point of contact for
coaching, advising, training and motivating the teams; acting as the
primary point of contact for administrative support of language teams;
acting as the first level of quality assurance review of e-learning
materials produced; following a measurable production plan developed with
the project manager for the development of e-learning objects for each
assigned language; using a database to track progress on the development
plan; generating progress reports as required; preparing completed
e-learning objects for publication and editing English language content.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in an academic field relevant to foreign
language e-learning materials development preferably in foreign language
education or second language acquisition, at least 1-2 years experience
with computer-assisted language instruction and teaching adult learners,
outstanding English language communication skills, advanced knowledge of a
language other that English, able to work in a culturally diverse working
environment.

STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience
