Description:

The Department of Language and Business Communication at the Aarhus School
of Business (ASB), University of Aarhus, invites applications for three
positions of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in English with a
specialization in the Rhetoric of Science, Technical Communication, English
for Law/Business/Medicine or some similar area. The successful candidates
will be expected to take up appointment by 1 January 2008 subject to mutual
agreement.

Each position is with one of the following units: the Centre for
Lexicography, the Translation and Interpreting unit, or the Knowledge
Communication unit (see
http://www.asb.dk/about/departments/isek/forskning/forskergrupper.aspx for
further information). The teaching obligations will be within the field of
English for Specific Purposes.

The position of assistant professor is a three-year tenure-track position
with research and teaching obligations. Applicants must have a relevant PhD
or similar academic qualifications before taking up the position. 
 
The position of associate professor is a permanent position with research
and teaching obligations. These include pedagogical supervision of
assistant professors and doctoral students, assessment work, teaching,
preparation of and participation in administrative work, and a duty to
contribute to the scientific development of the research area. Although
previous employment as an assistant professor is not a prerequisite,
candidates should have qualifications corresponding to what may be expected
to have been achieved on the basis of a three-year assistant professorship
with research obligations. Aplicants should provide documentation of their
research publications and of their teaching experience.

Applicants for either position who are not native speakers of English must
have a post-graduate degree in English.

- a CV
- a copy of the applicant's Ph.D. degree certificate
- documents substantiating research and teaching qualifications
- a complete numbered list of publications and working papers. Research
publications and working papers which the applicant wishes to be included
in the evaluation should be marked by an asterisk (*).
- three hard copies of the asterisk-marked scientific publications. Please
note that for the position of assistant professor a maximum of five
research publications and/or working papers may be submitted; for the
position of associate professor a maximum of ten research publications
and/or working papers may be submitted.
- co-author statements relating to the publications enclosed
- a brief statement of future research plans

The application and any documents enclosed should be submitted in three copies.

The applications will be evaluated by an assessment committee which is
authorised to ask for supplementary material from applicants if it deems
this necessary. 

The application, including any documents enclosed, should be submitted in
three copies, marked "Position No. 1002.18", and sent to the address below.
