Description:

As an associate professor (UHD) you will be a staff member of the
department of Business Communication Studies. You will be expected to help
in the design and teaching of  the courses in business communication and in
the Research Master's programme in Language and Communication, and
especially in international business communication, and in the supervision
of students (BA and MA theses) and PhD students. Courses in the domain of
International Business Communication are characterized by the focus on the
impact of foreign languages and foreign cultures on the effectiveness of
internal and external communication (for instance, the study of English as
a corporate language). The aim of the department of Business Communication
is to develop expertise and knowledge of the role of communication in
international organizational contexts, such as mergers and take-overs, and
the internal communication within multinationals. 

In your research activities, your focus will be on Professional
Communication in Foreign Languages within the Professional Communication
programme of the Centre of Language Studies. You will be expected to
acquire funding from national or international research institutions (such
as NWO) or third-party institutions. You will also act as a co-supervisor
of PhD projects.

In addition to research and teaching activities, you are expected to
contribute substantially to the management of the Department and the
Faculty. For instance, you will be responsible for the design and
coordination of the MA International Business Communication Studies
(provided in English) in the department of Business Communication.
