We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at
http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

In the context of a project on the regional and potential social variation
in the use of Spanish ''pues'', I would like to know how Spanish American
speakers use ''pues''.

If you are a native speaker of American Spanish, please consider taking 10
to 15 minutes to complete a small survey, in which you are asked to
evaluate the use of ''pues'' in 20 examples of authentic spoken Spanish
from 11 cities in the Spanish speaking world.

The survey is hosted by the Institute of Phonetic Sciences at the
University of Amsterdam and has been set up with the help of Rob van Son
and Dirk-Jan Vet.

If you are ready to participate, please go to

http://www.fon.hum.uva.nl/Service/Experiment/index.html and select
''Spanish_Experiment, PUES''

Thank you very much in advance for your participation.
