ACTL is a graduate school in theoretical linguistics. We organise and
coordinate a generic training program for PhD students in Linguistics. It
is aimed primarily - but not exclusively - at graduate students in the
South-East of England.

ACTL organises a Spring School in the last week of April (21-25 April
2008). The first four days will be devoted to talks by invited speakers. On
the final day, there will be the opportunity for ACTL students to give a
talk or present a poster.

Our invited speakers are:

    * Gereon Müller (University of Leipzig)
    * Philippe Schlenker (UCLA & Institut Jean-Nicod)
    * Alan Yu (University of Chicago)

The Spring School is open to anyone and is free for ACTL students. Other
participants will be asked to contribute 10 pounds towards the costs of
running the School (payment should be made on the first day of attendance).
If you are planning to take part, please send an email to
actl at ling.ucl.ac.uk, indicating whether you are an ACTL student or not.

Most likely the Spring School will take place in the new home of the UCL
Linguistics Department: Chandler House, 2 Wakefield Street, London WC1N
1PF. However, since the building work may not be completed in time, we can
only confirm this later.

Information regarding accommodation will shortly be posted on the ACTL web
site (www.actl.ucl.ac.uk), where the programme can also be found.
