Description:

The Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Information
Technology of Universität Stuttgart invites applications for the position
of a Full Professor (W3) in 'Foundations of Computational Linguistics' at
the Institute for Natural Language Processing. This call for application is
subject to approval by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of
Baden-Württemberg.

The successful candidate will be an internationally distinguished expert in
several major areas of computational linguistics. Examples are:

-  Computational and theoretical aspects of syntax and semantics
-  Computational models of discourse
-  Knowledge representation and reasoning in language understanding
-  Parsing

The Institute for Natural Language Processing participates actively in the
research project SFB 732. Scientific topics that are likely to foster
collaboration within the SFB and with the Institute of Linguistics are
especially welcome.

As a further requirement it is expected that a broad spectrum of
computational linguistics subjects will be represented in teaching both
inside and outside the department.

The requirements for employment listed in section 47 and section 50
Baden-Württemberg university law apply.
