Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Michigan invites
applications for a tenure-track position in semantics to begin September 1,
2009. The position is a full-time, university-year, appointment at the
assistant professor level, although under exceptional circumstances more
senior candidates may be considered. The ideal candidate will complement
and build on existing strengths within the department as well as within the
university's broader linguistic community. A Ph.D. by the start of the
appointment is required.

Application materials should include a letter of application, curriculum
vitae, statement of current and future research plans, statement of
teaching philosophy and experience, and evidence of teaching excellence.
Please also include one or more representative publications, and arrange
for three letters of recommendation to be sent. (Senior candidates should
instead provide names of references.) Review of dossiers will begin
November 25, 2008, and will continue until the position is filled. Email
