We are looking to strengthen our Research and Development team with a unit
selection research engineer having a proven competence in tone languages. 
The successful candidate is an expert in signal processing and algorithm
development.  Being a native speaker of Mandarin is a plus. We offer an
international and dynamic work environment in a team with world-class
expertise in software engineering, signal processing and linguistics.  

Tasks / responsibilities:

-Analyze strengths and weaknesses of unit selection solution for tone languages
-Propose and implement improvements
-Develop new Taiwanese Mandarin unit selection voice
-Test and assess quality of the final system

Requirements:

-Proven success developing TTS for a tone language, preferrably for Mandarin
-Masters degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
-3+ years experience in text-to-speech technology and unit selection
-Self-starter, creative thinker
-Outstanding programming and scripting skills
-Effective communication in English
-Willingness to relocate to Zurich, Switzerland
