Description:

The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Department of Anthropology, seeks to
hire a tenure-track linguistic anthropologist at the rank of assistant
professor. We are particularly interested in candidates with both applied
and strong theoretical interests. Language ideology and language politics,
verbal art, and orality and literacy are areas of interest, and a solid
grounding in linguistic and anthropological field methods is expected. An
interest in conducting research in Alaska is a requirement for the
position, though prior experience is not required. The Department of
Anthropology at UAF has a small but excellent graduate program with both MA
and PhD tracks and teaching will range from basic courses to advanced
graduate seminars. Evidence of teaching experience, publication record and
an active research program are important selection criteria.

your approach to teaching and pedagogy; 3) a curriculum vitae; 4) a sample
of written work (preferably based on recent research); and 5) a list of
