Description:

Positions: Two (2) nine-month, tenure-track assistant professor positions
beginning Fall 2010. Summer teaching is possible contingent upon
departmental needs, faculty availability and funding.

Responsibilities: Conduct research in area of expertise; seek extramural
funding; teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels; participate in
scholarly, service, and clinical activities, as applicable. Clinical
supervision is not a responsibility but can be performed if candidate
desires.

Qualifications 
  
Position 1: Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in communication
sciences and disorders or a related field such as linguistics,
neuroscience, behavioral science or human development. Preference will be
given to candidates with evidence of research productivity; evidence of
success in obtaining extramural funding; one or more years of postdoctoral
experience; and expertise in child language development and language
disorders, especially areas related to autism, language/literacy
development, or speech-language development in hearing-impaired
populations. CCC-SLP and clinical experience with
speech-language-disordered populations are advantageous. 
  
Position 2: Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in communication
sciences and disorders or a related field such as linguistics,
neuroscience, behavioral science or human development. Preference will be
given to candidates with evidence of research productivity; evidence of
success in obtaining extramural funding; one or more years of postdoctoral
experience; and expertise applicable to the discipline of communication
sciences and disorders. CCC-SLP and clinical experience with
speech-language-disordered populations are advantageous.

University: UNT is a student-centered public research university. The
University has more than 36,000 students, one-third of whom are graduate
students. The College of Arts and Sciences provides extensive
administrative support for research (e.g., start-up funds, competitive
intramural funding, travel supplements, pre- and post-award administrative
support for grant submissions) and opportunities for multi-disciplinary
collaboration (e.g., inter-departmental collaborations, research clusters).
Technological support for faculty research and teaching are exemplary. UNT
is conveniently located in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolis, the
economic and cultural hub of north-central Texas.

Department: The UNT Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences provides
research support in the form of lab space, start-up funds, travel support,
and faculty interaction. Established ties with major clinical and
educational organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolis provide
extensive opportunity for collaborative research efforts. Additional
