Meeting Description:

The annual Peaks Interdisciplinary Conference is a two day conference in beautiful Northern Arizona which provides graduate scholars with a great opportunity for intellectual exchange within and across disciplines including the various linguistic emphases.

Whether it is Iago, The Blob, or Joseph Stalin, representations and interpretations of evil thrive in literature, history, culture, art, and media. This year's conference will take a multi-disciplinary approach to these representations in order to explore the ways in which we understand, imagine, identify with, are repulsed by and subvert the concept of evil.

Call for Papers:

Although we will accept submissions on all topics, papers related to this year's featured theme--Villainy and Monstrosity: Representations of Evil--will be given special attention. Submissions that address the theme will be presented in a featured panel alongside many other panels covering a wide variety of topics from poetry to sustainability. Submissions from all disciplines are welcome.
