Meeting Description: 

Registration is now open for the 4th Northern Englishes Workshop. The registration fee for the 3 day conference is £90, with a reduced rate of £45 for students. After 1st March late registration fees of £110 / £65 will apply. Registration forms can be accessed online:http://sites.google.com/site/new4sheffield/home/registration

The conference, which focuses on research being undertaken on the linguistic 'North', will take the format of previous successful events held at Lancaster University, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Salford. In addition to 19 plenary paper presentations, there will be room for discussion and interactive sessions, including a workshop on how key tools and methods used within geographical research (e.g. utilising census data sets) can be applied to linguistic study. We are also pleased to announce keynote talks from Professor Katie Wales (University of Nottingham) and Professor David Britain (University of Bern).
