Description:

The Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of
Georgia seeks a Lecturer specializing in second/foreign/heritage language
education in K-12 school settings. The position begins in August 2011.

Qualifications:
A doctorate in foreign language education, TESOL, bilingual education,
applied linguistics, or related field by July 2011 is required. Potential
for obtaining external funding is desirable. Candidates must have K-12
experience, interest in school-community partnerships, and demonstrated
proficiency in a language other than English. Strong candidates will have
expertise in one or more of the following areas: assessment; teaching
methods in early second/foreign/heritage language education; instructing
linguistically and culturally diverse learners; curriculum development.

Responsibilities:
Duties include coordinating a certification program, teaching undergraduate
and graduate courses, advising graduate students, collaborating in the
development of innovative coordinated ESL/FL certification program.
