Description:

The School of Humanities and Languages brings together scholars with 
interdisciplinary research interests in the following fields: anthropology, 
Asian studies, cultural studies, history, international relations, linguistics and 
modern languages, literature and literary studies, media and visual studies, 
philosophy, political and social theory, and religious studies. Their research 
intersects with the focal areas of a range of Research Centres within the 
College of Arts: the Centre for Cultural Research, Centre for Citizenship and 
Public Policy, Centre for the Study of Contemporary Muslim Societies, MARCS 
Auditory Laboratories, and the Writing and Society Research Group.

Applications are invited for the continuing position of Level B Lecturer from 
scholars with teaching and research strengths in linguistics. The position will 
teach into the Linguistics major, which provides conceptual tools and 
knowledge relevant to the relationship of language and society as well 
linguistics-related disciplines, such as sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, 
developmental linguistics, bilingualism, and other applied linguistics areas. 
The successful applicant will have a PhD and a demonstrable record of 
excellent teaching and high level international publications in an area 
relevant to linguistics, including one or more of psycholinguistics, early 
language learning, bilingualism, second language acquisition, Australian 
indigenous languages, and English linguistics.

The School operates in a multi-campus environment and the successful 
applicant is expected to teach on all campuses on which the School operates 
in face-to-face teaching delivery and/or through blended learning 
technologies. This position is located at the Bankstown campus.
