Meeting Description:

The Yale Indonesia Forum (YIF) and Cornell University Indonesian Association (CIA) invite submissions for the 8th Biannual Northeast Conference on Indonesian Studies. This event will be held at Luce Hall at Yale University in New Haven, CT on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Dr. Sarah Weiss, from the Department of Music at Yale University, will be this year's keynote speaker. The conference will include talks from a broad range of fields, including linguistics, covering new, unpublished research on Indonesia. 

Call for Papers:

We welcome submissions from scholars from any field engaged in original, unpublished research related to Indonesia. Students, post-docs, and faculty are all welcome to apply. Talks should be in English and no more than 20 minutes long, and they will be followed by additional time for questions.

Abstracts should be limited to two pages in length, including examples and references, with 1 inch margins, and a minimum of 11 point font. All abstracts must be submitted in English. Please remove the author's name from the abstract.

Submission deadline: January 6, 2012
Notification of acceptance: Late January 2012
Commitment to present: February 1, 2012

Anonymous abstracts should be submitted as PDF or Word attachments in an email to YIFconference at gmail.com. Please use the subject line 'ABSTRACT' in your email, and include the following information in the body of the message.

Author's Name(s)
Academic affiliation
Title of the abstract
Field of study of the abstract (linguistics, history, environmental science, etc.)

Reviewers:

Depending on volume of response, those who submit an abstract may also serve as reviewers.
