Description:

Software Developer, Endangered Languages Archive
Fixed Term position until 31 July 2014 (Initially)
Salary £32,106 - £37,922 p.a. inclusive of London Allowance

The Endangered Languages Archive (ELAR) preserves and publishes
documentation of endangered languages and provides services including
client support and training. We are seeking to employ an experienced and
creative software developer who will play a central role in further
advancement of our digital data curation and publication system.

The successful candidate will join the small ELAR team, and will also
participate in activities with other programmes of Hans Rausing
Endangered Languages Project (HRELP). The applicant will be an
excellent Drupal/LAMP/Javascript developer with significant experience in
user-centred web applications, ideally with a degree in computing or a
linguistics related discipline and a strong interest in language
documentation and/or archiving.

The role's main duties include extending our existing system to expand its
interactive functions and enhance its usability; to develop new

administration and reporting. The position also involves communicating
about the project, and providing some software support to other

The position offers considerable potential for creative input to ELAR's

endangered languages throughout the world.

scheduled for week beginning: 30 January 2012.
