Description:

Professor in Learning and Instruction (M/F)
- Ref. F3-080003
- Full-time contract
- Employee status

Mission:
The professor's teaching activities will foster a learner-centered
approach to help future and current teachers and educators to focus
on the learner's individual learning processes and to provide
individualized learning experiences in the framework of an
educational institution. Furthermore, teaching activities emphasize
the relevance of scientific expertise and empirical research for
professional practice. Hence, the professor should be involved in the
configuration of a network involving the university and partner
schools intended at deconstructing the divide between theory and
practice. His/her presence in the field is indispensable; he/she will
have to set up, organise and analyse teaching and learning
workshops.

He/she will teach in the study programmes in the field of Educational
Sciences of the Faculty (particularly in the Bachelor in Educational
Sciences (Preschool and Primary Teacher Education), the planned
Master in Secondary Education and some other programmes such
as the Master in Learning and Communication in Multilingual and
Multicultural contexts, and the Doctoral School in Educational
Sciences.

He/she will conduct research on the basis of a theory-driven
description, explanation and improvement of learning and teaching
processes in learning situations embedded in institutionalized
contexts (schools). Special aspects of interests are empirically
generated theories of learning and teaching predominantly in the
context of teacher education, whereby the multilingual and
multicultural context of the workplace of the future teachers is taken
into account. The professor will play a central role in the University's
research priority "Education and learning in multilingual and
multicultural contexts".
