Description:

LCC International University is seeking a Professor of Linguistics. 

The University: LCC International University is a fully accredited liberal 
arts university located in the port city of Klaipeda, Lithuania. All instruction 
is in English and our 600 students come from 22 countries for an 
education from a Christian worldview. 

The Lithuanian language, derived from Sanskrit, is one of the oldest indo 
European languages alive today and many LCC students are native 
speakers of Lithuanian, as well as Belarusian, Russian, Latvian, 
Romanian, Ukrainian, Kazak, and Uzbek, among others. LCC is an 
exciting place for a linguist to spend a sabbatical or study leave, therefore, 
while we will prioritize long term applications, we are also open to short 
term assignments. 

Open Position: 
English Faculty: Linguistics/Writing Professor

LCC International University invites applications for a full-time, faculty 
position in the English department. 

Responsibilities include: 
-  Teaching linguistics courses such as Language Acquisition, 
Bilingualism, Structure of Language, Phonetics & Phonology, or 
Language Research Methods, as well as basic writing courses
-  Advising students including those interested in linguistics careers
-  Providing assistance in curriculum development 
-  Continuing scholarship and community service

Required Qualifications: 
-  Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics or a closely related field by the time of 
appointment, or a Master's degree in Linguistics with at least three years 
of related work experience
-  Demonstrated competence in teaching undergraduate linguistics 
-  Ability to teach other core courses in first-year writing; Language 
research methods 
-  Demonstrated commitment to student-centered education
-  Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of a culturally, ethnically, 
and linguistically diverse student body
