Description:

Job Assignments:
The position includes teaching and supervision at first- and second-cycle level, but also research to some extent. The holder of the position must be able to teach linguistics-oriented courses at all levels within the subject area, and supervise and examine linguistics-related essays and degree projects in Spanish at first- and second-cycle level. In addition, the holder of the position will also be involved in course development in cooperation with the other teachers within the subject area and the Department. Additional responsibilities may be required as well, for example of administrative nature.

Eligibility:
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in the University of Gothenburg’s Appointments Procedure. To be eligible for the position, the applicant must hold a doctoral degree and have a research focus deemed relevant for the position. The applicant must also have demonstrated pedagogical proficiency.

Assessment:
Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in the University of Gothenburg’s Appointments Procedure.

Scholarly proficiency must have been demonstrated through the applicant’s own research involving complex and demanding issues, theoretical awareness, methodological proficiency and a high degree of analytical ability.
Particular (and equal) weight will be placed on scholarly and pedagogical proficiency within the relevant subject area. 

Preferably, the applicant should have teaching experience from a teacher education setting and experience of interdisciplinary collaboration. Fluency in Swedish is also necessary, as some material at the Department is taught in Swedish.

Additional information:
The selection process may involve trial lectures, interviews and the taking up of references.

In addition, if the successful applicant lacks formal training in teaching and learning in higher education, he/she will be expected to complete such training, or acquire equivalent qualifications, within two years of the employment start date.

The tenured senior lecturer is expected to often be physically present at the department and regularly participate in its work.
