Meeting Description:

PALA 2013 will cover a wide range of topics relating to current research on Processability Theory and Second Language Acquisition including theoretical, empirical and applied issues. The symposium is open to everyone, with no
participation fees.

Call for Papers:

You are kindly invited to submit proposals for papers and posters related to Processability Theory and second language acquisition research. Possible topics: Differences in L1 and L2 acquisition, heritage speakers, cross-linguistic comparisons, specific language impairment (SLI), bilingual acquisition, complexity, transfer, etc.

Types of Presentations:

Papers will be allocated 20 minutes for presentation and 10 for discussion. Poster sessions will be prominently programmed, and no parallel activities will be organised.

The review criteria are the same for papers and posters. 

Guidelines for Submission:

Abstracts can be downloaded after registration on the Registration Page of the website. Maximum length of abstracts is 350 words. Provision of references is optional but references should not reveal the identity of the author(s) of the proposal.

All submissions will be reviewed anonymously and evaluated in terms of originality, clarity and significance of findings and conclusions. Paper and poster proposals should not have been previously published. Each author may submit no more than one individual and one co-authored abstract.

Abstract submissions: Tuesday, April 30, 2013
Notifications of acceptance: Saturday, June 15, 2013
