Description:

The Department of English Linguistics of the College of English at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul will receive applications from qualified candidates for the next three weeks for three teaching positions that begin in the spring semester of 2014: two candidates with PhDs in Linguistics; one candidate with an MA or MS in Linguistics and/or TESL. Only those with these qualifications need apply. The candidates must be native speakers of English.

Faculty members at HUFS are required to publish academically. Depending on the quality of the journals in which one publishes, remuneration between 1 million KRW up to 25 million KRW will be awarded for each paper published for up to three papers per year. The university also supports attendance at selected international conferences one time each year per faculty member.

The contract is for 2 semesters of 16 weeks each, teaching 8 hours per week (PhD), or 12 hours per week (MA). The pay ranges from 3.2 million KRW per month to 4.8 million KRW per month, based on education, years of teaching, and publications, and is non-negotiable. Housing is available.
