Meeting Description:

The Centre for Linguistic Research (CLR) at the University of Sheffield will
hold its first postgraduate conference on 4-5 February 2014. ShefLingPGC is
organised by postgraduate students from across all departments of language and
linguistics. This two-day conference is designed to give linguistics
postgraduates from all research areas an opportunity to present and discuss
their research in a friendly and intellectually stimulating setting at the
University of Sheffield.


Call for Papers:

We invite postgraduates and doctoral students to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on any language, across a range of topics in language and linguistics.

Key Dates:

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 20 December 2013
Notification of acceptance: 1 January 2014
Registration opens: 1 January 2014

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Submit your abstract for a paper or poster presentation in 250-300 words (excluding references), by 20 December to ShefLingPGC at gmail.com. Please submit two copies of the abstract in the following format:

- Copy 1: Title, abstract, 5-6 keywords, anonymous
- Copy 2: Title, abstract, 5-6 keywords, your name, affiliation and a short bio-note

Presentation Guidelines:

Each speaker will be given 20-minute for presentation and a 10-minute question and answer session at the end. There will also be a dedicated poster session at the conference. Please note, the language of the conference is English.
