Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce the Workshop on the Sound Systems of Mexico and Central America, to be held April 4-6 2014 at Yale University.

This workshop will bring together an international group of linguists to discuss the phonetics and phonology of indigenous languages spoken in Mexico and Central America. We hope to facilitate communication between scholars who are already working on these topics, and to encourage further research on the sound systems of the many languages spoken in these countries.

The conference will feature the following invited speakers:

Francisco Arellanes
Heriberto Avelino
Gabriela Caballero
Mario Chávez-Peón
Emiliana Cruz
Christian DiCanio
Esther Herrera Zendejas
John Kingston
Rolf Noyer
Ryan Shosted
Tony Woodbury

The languages of the conference are English and Spanish.

This workshop is supported by the Edward J. and Dorothy Clarke Kempf Memorial Fund and the Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies, under the auspices of the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University.

Este taller cuenta con el apoyo de 'The Edward J. and Dorothy Clarke Kempf Memorial Fund' y 'The Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies', patrocinados por 'The MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies' de la Universidad de Yale.
