Meeting Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Simon Fraser University is honoured to host
the 30th Northwest Linguistics Conference (NWLC) on April 26-27, 2014. Held on
an alternating basis by the graduate linguistics students of Simon Fraser
University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria,
and the University of Washington, the NWLC brings together research by
students in all areas of linguistics.


2nd Call for Papers:

The deadline for abstract submission has been Extended to February 16, 2014.

The organizing committee of the 30th Northwest Linguistics Conference has decided to extend the call for papers. Once again, we invite abstracts for 30-minute talks (20-minute presentations with 10 minutes for discussion) from graduate and undergraduate students on topics in theoretical and applied linguistics. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words in 12pt font on letter-size paper (8.5” x 11”) with 1-inch margins. Figures and references may be included on an optional second page. Do not include your name, affiliation, or other identifying information in the abstract; instead, include these in the body of your email along with the title of your presentation and contact information.

The deadline for abstract submission is 11:59 pm (PST) on February 16, 2014. Abstracts should be submitted as a PDF attachment by email to nwlc_2014 at sfu.ca (subject line “Abstract”). Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent by February 24, 2014.
