Description:

Majan College (University College) Muscat, Oman is inviting qualified and experienced applicants to apply for full-time faculty positions at the Faculty of English Language Studies. The Faculty has two main programmes: the BA English Language Programme and the Foundation Programme, designed to prepare secondary school leavers for study at the tertiary level in English. In addition to that, the Faculty also delivers ESAP (English for Specific Academic Purposes) courses on the degree programmes of the Business and IT Faculties. 
 
Available Vacancies:
Candidates with an MA degree in English Language Teaching and teaching experience at the tertiary level will be considered for positions on the Foundation Programme. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in curriculum design, material development and assessment.  

Candidates with a PhD degree in Linguistics or Translation and a minimum of three years of teaching experience at the tertiary level will be considered for positions on the BA English Programme. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven research record (or a strong potential for one), a strong record of teaching excellence; and, who in addition to their areas of specialism, can competently deliver a range of other related courses. 

Duties:
Academic and administrative duties include:
- teaching a certain number hours per week
- offering students consultation and supervision
- exam preparation and invigilation
- curriculum development
- participating in staff development
- participating in various committees
