Description:

As part of an exciting growth plan, we wish to appoint two Lecturers in English Language and Applied Linguistics specialising in two or more of the following areas: Language and New Media; Lexis; Figurative Language; Cognitive Linguistics; Sociolinguistics; Psycholinguistics; Pragmatics; English Language Teaching; Second Language Acquisition; English in Professional/Workplace Discourse.

The post will commence on 1st September 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. We seek candidates who will make an outstanding contribution to the research profile of the Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics and who will be able to teach across a wide range of areas, including but not restricted to those listed above.

The post-holders will create and disseminate knowledge by initiating and conducting original research, publishing in their area of research expertise, and developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. In addition, the post-holders will undertake various administrative tasks.
