Call Deadline: 05-Jan-2015

Meeting Description:

The Comparative Germanic Syntax Workshop (CGSW) is an annual conference on all aspects of comparative Germanic syntax, consistently featuring the best syntactic work on the language family. Primary topics include theoretical syntax of Germanic languages, both synchronic and diachronic; microvariation in Germanic languages; and interfaces between syntax and other components of the grammar.

CGSW has taken place in various countries in Europe and North America. In 2015, the 30th CGSW will be held for the first time in Chicago.

We are pleased to announce this year’s invited speakers:

Jeroen van Craenenbroeck (KU Leuven)
Peter Svenonius (CASTL, University of Tromsø)
Susi Wurmbrand (University of Connecticut)

The final date for pre-registration is April 22, 2015.

We invite abstracts for 30-minute talks (followed by 10 minutes of discussion) on any aspect of Germanic syntax to be presented at the 30th Comparative Germanic Syntax Workshop, including diachronic syntax and the interface between syntax and other components of the grammar. This workshop will be held at the University of Chicago, 22-23 May 2015.

Abstract Guidelines:

Abstracts should not exceed two pages (at least 11-point Times New Roman font, with single spacing and margins of at least 2.54cm/1 inch; 8.5x11” or A4), including examples, diagrams, and references. Abstracts must be anonymous and submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author. They should be uploaded in pdf format via EasyChair.
