Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers, Supporters, and Friends,

Happy Thursday! At this time, we have collected not even 25% of our goal. Please consider making a donation to help us raise the funds we need to keep LINGUIST operating.

http://funddrive.linguistlist.org/donate/

As a reminder, we have several donation benefits you can enjoy no matter how much you donate. Along with supporting LINGUIST, you can use your donation to help your university, subfield, and country is our Challenges!

In our Subfield Challenge, Syntax and Computational Linguistics hold the leads, while Sociolinguistics kicks Phonology out of third place! Semantics jumps up the chart, coming in fifth place. All five of these subfields have raised over $1,000 each!

1. Syntax - $2,393
2. Computational Linguistics - $2,246
3. Sociolinguistics - $2,037
4. Phonology - $1,634
5. Semantics - $1,560

The next subfield to hit $1,000 is Historical Linguistics. Can they hit it today?

For a full list, see: https://funddrive.linguistlist.org/subfield/

In our University Challenge, Indiana University Bloomington holds the lead, but the University of Washington is putting up a tough fight! Will the lead last, or will Washington fight to take the top spot back? Or, will Stanford take it from them both?

1. Indiana University Bloomington - $2,436
2. University of Washington - $1,995
3. Stanford University - $1,075
4. University of Massachusetts Amherst - $875
5. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - $633

Please support the LL editors and operation with a donation at:

This year the LINGUIST List hopes to raise $79,000. This money
will go to help keep the List running by supporting all of our
Student Editors for the coming year.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Indiana University and
as such can receive donations through the eLinguistics Foundation,
which is a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal
Tax number is 45-4211155. These donations can be offset against
your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only).
For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial
advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that
they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
Normally this entails your contacting your human resources department
and sending us a form that the eLinguistics Foundation fills in and
returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative
procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
