Description:

Jinan University is recruiting a visiting professor in Southeast Asian
Linguistics, to work at Jinan University (Guangzhou, China) for 2 months of
each year for the next 3 years.

This visiting professorship is with the Institute of Applied Linguistics, at
Jinan University. The focus of our project "Southeast Asian Linguistic Study"
is on the languages in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia
and Cambodia.

The visiting professor is expected to have an existing research interest which
is compatible with the focus of this project and to involve researchers at
Jinan in his/her research - for example by training students at Jinan to be
research assistants, or by collaboratively sharing with professors at Jinan
the methods and strategies and findings of the his/her research program.
He/she is also expected to give lectures to the students, to organize a
workshop for well-established experts, and to promote academic exchange
between Jinan University and other universities.

The successful applicant will be experienced in Southeast Asian linguistic
study, and has connections with other experts of Southeast Asian languages.
The PhD is required.

The salary is usually about USD 6000 per month for an invited professor, who
should work in Jinan for about two months every year for three years. Housing
is provided with the appointment.

There are no restrictions on the nationality of the applicants.
