Meeting Description:

The Sociolinguistics Circle is an annual one-day conference that aims at
bringing together students and researchers of language variation,
sociolinguistics and social dynamics of language with a connection to the Low
Countries. The upcoming, fifth edition will be hosted by the chair
Languageculture in Limburg of Maastricht University, Faculty of Arts and
Social Sciences, and will take place on April 6, 2018. For this fifth edition,
we also invite BA and MA students to submit their work for (poster)
presentation.


Call for Papers:

We welcome abstracts for paper and poster presentations which deal with
variationist, sociolinguistic, dialectological, language-anthropological and
ethnographical topics (in the broadest possible sense of these terms),
investigated in any linguistic variety. Abstracts can be submitted in English
or Dutch, and should contain no more than 300 words (excluding references);
they should be submitted via the Easy Abstracts site of the conference:
