Description:

Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of
Assistant Professor in the area of General and Applied Linguistics with
primary specialization in Syntax, Morphology and Semantics commencing July 1,
2018.  The appointment will initially be in the Department of Linguistics and
Religious Studies (College of Arts and Science, University of Saskatchewan)
currently under transformation to a department focusing on Linguistics.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a PhD (at the time of the appointment) in
Linguistics or Applied Linguistics with primary research and teaching
specialization in Syntax, Morphology and Semantics. Demonstrated excellence in
teaching and a record of peer-reviewed academic articles published in
reputable journals are required. 

The responsibilities of the position include chairing the undergraduate
Linguistics program and teaching 12 cu (four classes) of undergraduate and
graduate Linguistics/Applied Linguistics courses (such as Ling 110, 241, 243,
245, 247, 252, 341, 342, 343, 345, 346, 347, 403, 806) per academic year as
required by the Department. Candidates with an additional background in ESL
and an interest in one of the Aboriginal languages or Inuktitut as well as in
minority languages description will be given preference. 

Salary band for this position is: Assistant Professor:  $93,293 to $112,109 

This position has a comprehensive benefits package which includes a dental,

date is July 1, 2018.
