Description:

Colby College invites applications for two positions in Spanish. Please
indicate in your cover letter the reference code of the position(s) for which

necessary.) Review of applications will begin November 13 and will continue
until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews of selected candidates
will be held in December via video conference.

A)  Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Spanish:
three-year, non-renewable language position, starting September 1, 2018. Ph.D.
or advanced ABD in Spanish (literature or linguistics). Applicants must have
native or near-native command of Spanish and extensive experience and
demonstrated excellence in language teaching. Given our department's mission
statement, we are particularly interested in candidates who consider issues of
diversity, inclusion, and equity in the language classroom, and who are
familiar with and supportive of Heritage language acquisition and
pedagogy. Principal responsibilities include teaching five language courses
per academic year. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae,
three letters of recommendation, statement of teaching philosophy and research
interests, evidence of teaching performance, and sample of current scholarship
