The appointees will be required to support co-curricular activities related to
language learning and intercultural events for students of all programmes at
EdUHK; provide teaching and administrative support and be engaged in evening
social activities and occasionally weekend activities.  Appointees will be
provided with opportunities to organize programmes for students’ language and
cultural enrichment, personal growth and professional development via
hall-based and campus wide events. They will also provide teaching support for
elementary French Language courses and conduct language advising sessions
focusing on basic communication skills in French. Appointees may also be
required to run language advising workshops in English. In-house training in
language advising (in English) will be provided to appointees. They are
required to reside in a student hostel.  The appointment will commence from
mid-August 2018.

The successful applicant should be a native speaker of French and fluent in
English, with Bachelor’s degree preferably in teaching and/or language
education. He/she should have sound knowledge in graphics applications as well
as high level of literacy in computer applications, and possess strong
communication & presentation skills, problem-solving and leadership skills,
and planning and organizing abilities. The applicant for the post of SFIT
should have at least one academic year of working experience in the University
as French IT preferably with teaching qualification. He/she should demonstrate
good supervision skills.

Applicants for the post of French IT are requested to submit: (1) a 2-minute
self-introduction video YouTube link – principally in English (with some
French); (2) a written proposal in English on the following topic: “Being one
of the International Tutors of The Education University of Hong Kong, write a
proposal to your supervisor outlining the details of a language advising
session for a group of 4-5 undergraduate students on basic communication
skills in French”. Applicants are requested to sign the ‘Plagiarism
Declaration Sheet’ for the proposal.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe
benefits include leave, outpatient medical and dental benefits.
