Meeting Description: 

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International
Workshop-Conference “Experimental Studies of Language and Speech. Bilingualism
and Multilingualism (E-SoLaS)” that will be held at National Research Tomsk
State University, Tomsk, Russia, on October 1– 5, 2018.
The workshop-conference is intended for undergraduate, graduate and
post-graduate students and researchers interested in employing experimental
methods to study language processing, speech production, and comprehension,
language interaction in bilinguals and multilinguals. Besides, the workshop is
going to be the platform for discussing a particular case of language
interaction in Russian-Turkic (Tatar, Shor, and Khakass) bilinguals.

Call for Participation: (Registration deadline September, 15 2018)

The Workshop-Conference Program:

The workshop comprises 6 modules taught by worldwide known experts in the
field of the cognitive, linguistic and cultural aspects of bi- and
multilingualism and a roundtable discussion of language interaction issues.
 
Module 1. “Turkic languages in the multilingual environment” by Anna Dybo
(TSU, Head of the Laboratory of Linguistic Anthropology, Member of the Russian
Academy of Sciences).
Module 2. “Using eye-tracking to study different aspects of written language
processing” by Jukka Hyona (Psychology Department, University of Turku). 
Module 3. “Data processing in experimental studies” by Ivan Vankov (Department
of Cognitive science and psychology, New Bulgarian University, Bulgaria).
Module 4.  “Mental Lexicon: Modelling and Resources to Process Semantics
(WordNet and relative projects) by Irina Ovchinnicova (M. Sechenov First
Moscow State Medical University, Institute of linguistics and cross-cultural
communication, Russia; The University of Haifa, Israel) 
Module 5. Experimental Studies of Russian-Turkic Bilingualism: where we are
now and where we are heading for? Roundtable discussion of the results and
perspectives within the project “South Siberian languages interaction”
(Laboratory of linguistic anthropology, Tomsk State University.
Module 6. Poster session

Participants attending the workshop are kindly invited to submit their
contributions for the researchers' poster session.

Poster abstracts (250 words) to be sent prior to the workshop (deadline
September 15, 2018)
