Lecturer Grade F: £34,520 - £38,833 per annum
Lecturer Grade G: £39,992 - £47,722 per annum
Senior Lecturer Grade H: £49,149 - £56,950 per annum

The School of Modern Languages wishes to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer
in French Studies. We welcome applications from specialists in any area of
modern (post-1789) French/Francophone Studies to complement the
multidisciplinary nature of French Studies at Newcastle, though preference may
be given to one of the following areas: history/politics, visual culture,
linguistics, or translation/interpreting.

You will have a PhD in a relevant field, a strong or developing publication
record, and clearly defined research plans leading to internationally
excellent publications, grant applications and impact. You will have native or
near native fluency in French and English, and demonstrate the ability to
undertake postgraduate supervision, deliver research-led modules, and
contribute to French language modules. You will possess the qualities needed
take on administrative and pastoral roles within the School. Candidates for
appointment at Senior Lecturer level should demonstrate significant
achievement in research, teaching, and leadership in an HE environment.
