Description:

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) is seeking applications for a one-year
term position to be housed in the Department of Languages & Literatures, in
the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities of this
position will be teaching courses in core linguistic subjects, second language
pedagogy, and TESOL practicum for undergraduate students. Duties also include
evaluating teaching materials and observing pre-service teachers in the K-12
classroom. 

Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in linguistics, second language education or related
field required. ABD considered. The successful applicant will have experience
teaching ESL/EFL students and have U.S. K-12 teacher licensure in ESL or a
combination of ESL/Foreign Language. Also required is experience or potential
to direct language practicum or advanced field experiences on the K-12 level.
Additional requirement is demonstrated ability to teach college courses in
TESOL and applied linguistics. 

Preference will be given to applicants with a record of teaching-related
research and demonstrated commitment to school/department service and
community engagement
