Description:

The Department of Spanish & Italian at Wake Forest University seeks to fill a
tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning
July 1, 2019. Initial two-year appointment, renewable. Nine courses over two
years (2-2-2-3), including language courses. Native or near-native fluency in
Spanish. PhD in Applied Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition with a
concentration in second language pedagogy completed at the time of
appointment. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and an active
research program in language proficiency (ACTFL standards and assessment),
curriculum design, and/or technology-enhanced language learning as well as
interest in departmental service in these areas. Applicants must have a firm
commitment to undergraduate teaching and to second language instruction in
