Description:

The Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Denver will
hire a Teaching Assistant Professor of Spanish. This is a non-tenure track
position with full benefits and initial three-year contract; contract is
renewable and promotion is possible. Appointment begins in Fall 2019. The
successful candidate will have a specialization in Spanish Applied
Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition or a closely related field. They will
be responsible for coordinating courses in the Spanish language program and
will teach in the first- and/or second-year Spanish curriculum. Depending on
qualifications and program needs, the person hired may also teach advanced
courses in their area of specialty. Other duties include language placement,
student advising, and service to the department. The successful candidate will
contribute to diversity and Inclusive Excellence through their teaching and
service.

This position is required to start Sept. 1, 2019.
 
Required Qualifications
- MA at time of application; specialization in Spanish Applied Linguistics,
Second Language Acquisition or a closely related field.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Experience and accomplishments in active support of diversity and
inclusiveness.
- Record of excellence in coordinating beginning and/or intermediate Spanish
language classes at the college or university level.
- Record of excellence in teaching Spanish language to students in the US at
the college or university level.
