Description:

American University of Sharjah, an internationally ranked and accredited
American-style university in the United Arab Emirates, seeks full-time faculty
members, pending budgetary approval, in Rhetoric Composition and/or Applied
Linguistics to teach courses in the undergraduate language program, general
education, academic writing, ESP, and in the MA TESOL program, in the
Department of English. 

Candidates should hold a completed PhD in Rhetoric Composition and/or Applied
Linguistics with specialization in academic writing. In addition,
specialization in Teaching English for Specific Purposes (TESP) is especially
welcome. Experience in managing a writing program and designing ESP courses
would be desirable.   

Successful candidates will have a strong record of excellence in teaching,
ongoing scholarly publication, and a demonstrated commitment to productive
institutional service. As a university formed on American models, AUS will
give priority to candidates who have substantial experience in American models
of higher education.
