Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Syntax at the rank of Assistant
Professor; exceptional candidates at a senior level will also be considered.
The position will begin on July 1, 2019. The successful candidate must have
the Ph.D. completed by the time of appointment. Applicants must present a
proven record of research and evidence of excellence in teaching. The
successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and
graduate instruction, including introductory level courses, to advise student
research, and to develop a strong research program.

Candidates are to apply at the application link provided below. Include a
curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching interests, and
representative publications. Submitting a cover letter or teaching evaluations
is optional. Applicants must also submit the names and contact information of
three referees who have agreed to provide a letter of reference. The
University will contact the referees with instructions on how to submit their
letters to the website. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2018,
and will continue until the position is filled. It is advised that candidates
apply as early as possible.
