Subject: Dialect Survey on Deceptive Online Hotel Reviews!

Dear LINGUIST Listers,

As part of my dissertation research, I am collecting a dialect survey/writing
task from undergraduates and their social networks, and so I was hoping that
you could take the survey and pass it to your students! The anonymous online
survey consists of ten background questions and writing two hotel reviews
similar to those found on TripAdvisor.com. It lasts between 20-25 minutes and
participants can it either on a laptop or smartphone. Here is the solicitation
letter to share with your networks:

Hello X,

Mark Visonà, a linguistics graduate student at Georgetown University, is
studying the language of online hotel reviews like those on the website
TripAdvisor.com as part of his dissertation research. He has a 20-25 minute
survey consisting of ten demographic questions followed by writing two hotel
reviews. Would you consider taking his survey? You can take it at the
following address on either a laptop or smartphone:

Thanks!
