Subject: Postmodern vs Future

Conceptually, I know there is a difference between postmodern and future.

However:

post- WORD ORIGIN. a prefix, meaning “behind,” “after,” “later,” “subsequent
to,” “posterior to,”

adjective: modern
relating to the present or recent times as opposed to the remote past.

noun: future
the time or a period of time following the moment of speaking or writing; time
regarded as still to come.

Aren't they essentially the same thing?

Is there something I'm missing?

I apologize if this is a stupid question.
