Full Title: 7th International Conference on Statistical Language and Speech Processing
Short Title: SLSP 2019

Date: 14-Oct-2019 - 16-Oct-2019
Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia
Contact Person: David Silva
Meeting Email: david at irdta.eu

Linguistic Field(s): Computational Linguistics; Morphology; Semantics; Syntax; Text/Corpus Linguistics

Call Deadline: 07-Sep-2019

Meeting Description:

SLSP is a yearly conference series aimed at promoting and displaying excellent
research on the wide spectrum of statistical methods that are currently in use
in computational language or speech processing. It aims at attracting
contributions from both fields. Though there exist large conferences and
workshops hosting contributions to any of these areas, SLSP is a more focused
meeting where synergies between the two domains will hopefully happen. In SLSP
2019, significant room will be reserved to young scholars at the beginning of
their career and particular focus will be put on methodology.

SLSP 2019 will take place in Ljubljana, a charming city full of art and one of
the smallest capital cities in Europe. The venue will be:

Jožef Stefan Institute
Jamova cesta 39

Final Call for Posters:

SLSP 2019

The 7th International Conference on Statistical Language and Speech Processing
(SLSP 2019) invites researchers to submit poster presentations. SLSP 2019 will
be held in Ljubljana on October 14-16, 2019. See

https://slsp2019.irdta.eu/

Poster presentations are intended to enhance informal interactions with
conference participants, at the same time allowing for in-depth discussion.

Topics:

Presentations displaying novel work in progress on statistical models
(including machine learning) for language and speech processing are
encouraged. Posters do not need to show final research results. Work that
might lead to new interesting developments is welcome.

Key Dates:

Poster submission deadline: September 7, 2019

Notification of poster acceptance or rejection: September 14, 2019

Submission:

Please submit a .pdf abstract through:

https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=slsp2019

It should contain the title, author(s) and affiliation, and should not exceed
500 words.

Presentation:

Posters will be allocated 10 minutes each in the programme for oral
presentation. Moreover, they will remain hanging out during the whole
conference for discussion.

Publication:

Posters will not appear in the LNCS/LNAI proceedings volume of SLSP 2019.
However, they will be eligible for submission to the post-conference journal
special issue in Computer Speech and Language (Elsevier, JCR 2018 impact
factor: 1.776).

Registration:

At least one author of each accepted poster must register to the conference by
September 30, 2019. The registration fare is reduced: 285 Euros. It gives the
same rights all other conference participants will have (attendance, copy of
the proceedings volume, lunches, coffee breaks). Contributors of regular
papers who in addition get a poster accepted must register for the latter
independently.

Invited Speakers:

- Jure Leskovec (Stanford University), Learning and Reasoning with Knowledge
Graphs
- Alexandros Potamianos (National Technical University of Athens), Emotion and
Behavioral Tracking in the Lab and in the Wild
- Odette Scharenborg (Delft University of Technology), The Representation and
Processing of Speech in Human Listeners and Deep Neural Network-based
Automatic Speech Recognition Systems
