Dear all,

LanguageARC (https://languagearc.com) is a new citizen science website for
language research developed with the support of a grant from the National
Science Foundation (no. 1730377). Contributors to this online community –
“citizen linguists” – can participate in a variety of language-related tasks
and activities to support linguistic research such as identifying accents from
audio clips, recording “tongue twisters,” and translating English sentences
into other languages.

New projects will be added on an ongoing basis. In the near future,
researchers will be able to create their own language projects on LanguageARC
with an easy to use Project Builder Toolkit. LanguageARC data resulting from
initial NSF support will be made freely available to the research community.

We encourage you to become an active participant in the LanguageARC community.
Feel free to reach out with comments, questions or suggestions by using the
website’s “Contact” page or emailing James Fiumara (jfiumara at ldc.upenn.edu).
