Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (in English) (Temporary - 2 years) (PR0270/18-19)

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in English, or a relevant higher
degree, or have completed all the requirements for the degree qualifications
by June 2019. Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record of excellence
in teaching and, ideally, that of quality research publications in any area of
English.

The successful appointee should be scholarly and pedagogically committed to
English language and literature of any period and be prepared to teach a range
of courses essential to an English major, particularly in the areas of
professional writing, argumentation, research skills, creativity, and culture.
Beyond these foundational areas, applicants are invited to indicate their
abilities in specific areas of linguistics, literature, digitalization and/or
cross-disciplinary interests that might relate to our faculty’s niche research
on “Well-being and the public good”.

Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years commencing not
later than 15 June 2019. 

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

evaluation results. For Senior Lecturer Post: Applicants are requested to send
in samples of publications, preferably three best ones out of their most
recent publications, and latest teaching evaluation results. Applicants should
also request two referees to send in confidential letters of reference, with
PR number (stated above) quoted on the letters, to the Personnel Office
(Email: recruit at hkbu.edu.hk) direct. Applicants not invited for interview 4
months after the closing date may consider their applications unsuccessful.
