Description:

The holder is expected to conduct research, planning and management of
research, as well as teaching and supervision, within the framework of
postgraduate education and undergraduate and graduate level. The holder must
also actively participate in the work of the university and the department by
taking on administrative and investigative tasks, forming part of working
groups, initiating research projects and actively promoting external funding
for the department's research, stay informed about the development, not only
within the subject area but also on the university education area as a whole,
establish contacts with other universities and institutions and represent the
subject Spanish in external contacts.

Eligible applicants for the position are those who have demonstrated and
documented pedagogical skills. Research expertise within Spanish Linguistics
should have been demonstrated through independent research that significantly
exceeds the requirements for qualification as an Associate Professor, both in
terms of quality and quantity. Documented very good skills in spoken and
written Spanish at a high scientific level are required. Holders who do not
master Swedish or other Nordic languages ​​should be able to document such
skills in English as are required for the collaboration within the department,
faculty, university and society as a whole.

A general assessment criterion is the ability to work with other people, as
well as other general abilities required to perform one’s duties.

In the appointment, special emphasis is placed on scientific skills and strong
emphasis on pedagogical skills. As a professor of the subject, great
importance is also attached to a broad linguistic competence in both research
and education in Spanish. Emphasis is also given to administrative skills,
including demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to interact with the
surrounding society, the ability to inform about research and development work
and to have successfully planned, applied for and received grants for research
projects from external funders. Successful supervision of essays and
dissertations is considered part of the pedagogical and scientific skills.
Merit is also documented competence in other Romance languages ​​offered at
the department (French, Italian, Portuguese).
